...I have a question about your intense itching. I too have itching, specifically in one area. No one could figure out why. Once they figured out I had cushings j asked if the itching could be from that. In Memoriam: Kassey WhiterockKassey passed away on June 30, 2016. Her sister said she died in her sleep. She was in the hospital due to a crisis on June 21st.Kassey was only 20 years old.

...I was scared on how long it would take me to be normal after surgery. Tomorrow will make a week. I am weak but Less than I thought. ... I too am in the same situation and also have been dealing with constant pain for 6 years now, been bedridden for about 4. I’m pretty sure my pain is unrelated to my Cushing’s– terrible pain in/ behind my eyes. They feel like they’re ripping if I move them. I’ve been through the process of test after test, surgery after surgery to no avail and no answer or relief from my pain. I have about 90% of the symptoms of Cushing’s including cataracts in both eyes and I am only 26.

In Memory: Barbara “Cookie” RothenbergMy family and I met Cookie at the UVA Cushings Conference Fall 2002. She was so helpful and caring. She told my father, sister, and I her “Cushings Story.” She was so, well, there is no better word to describe her, “bubbly.” She was so happy to be there, teaching, learning, and helping with CUSH. She left an impression on my family and I. She had such a great personality. She was one of the very first “Cushies” I met…and she made me re-think my attitude about being sick. She was going through so much, yet she had such a wonderful attitude towards it all. She was amazing!

...One thing for sure is that having an adrenalectomy might seem to you of a magical cure but it is Not, I wonder where the old me went to , I have no energy, no drive and my joints hurt badly and yet they claimed I am cured I think that half of the battle with this unusual disease is the aftermath of treatment... -

Today we remember Janice who died on this date in 2001.Our dear friend, Janice died this past Tuesday, September 4, 2001. I received an IM from her best friend Janine, tonight. Janine had been reading the boards, as Janice had told her about this site, and she came upon my name and decided to IM me. I am grateful that she did. She said that she knew that Janice would want all of us to know that she didn't just stop posting.

My Daughter Lisa Marie Bates Died Needlessly Of Addison's DiseaseThe problem with Addison's disease is that only 1 out of 100,000 people get this. Lisa's symptoms were classic, vitilago which are white spots, darkened pigment, and flu like symptoms. Even in this day and age doctors can miss a case of Addison's.

I was amazed to make it through the entire weekend with no Adrafinil – sadly, there’s nowhere to get it anymore. I carried extra cortisol, just in case. And slept all the way home on the train.

...I do have many of the symptoms of hypothyroidism, including feeling cold all the time. I know I have high testosterone levels, as they have been tested and shown as high, and I have some of the affects of that, too, like increased facial hair and chest hair and deepening of the voice....
