  1. Thanks for your reply. I have now been in recovery for 3 years. I had pituitary surgery in 2004 and 2006 and radiotherapy at the end of 2006. I am sorry to hear that you have been unwell too. My blog wasn't so much as being hard on myself, I didn't intend it to come across that way - it was more about what a journey the past year has been for me personally. My life really has come full circle. All that I have lost has been regained except for full health of course. I am nearly back to my old self and when I say there isn;t a day that goes by that I am well, I mean the small things like an imbalance of my medication, feeling a little tired, having a headache. The only probem is I think when you live with a chronic illness you get so used to accepting all that goes with it that in the end it becomes hard to distinguish between what is normal and what isn't. For example if I didn;t have Cushings and I had a headache, I would think, oh well I have a headache, I'll take some parecetamol. But with Cushings and my experiences, I think, are any of my meds out of balance, check my blood sugars, am I on the right dose of insulin, I hope the tumout isn;t playing up again...that's what I mean about not a day goes by that I don't feel well. I hope I will come to a point when I can just live my life without these concerns.

I reached out to this site a long time ago, back in 2004 I joined and met the most wonderful compassionate people, some of whom are still posting. If you haven;t psoted yet, I would urge you to do so. You will meet like minded people who have been through some incredible journies and your experiences could help them through.

Thanks again for reading my blog. I really appreciate your reply.

    P.S. I hope you get a Big Tent,LOL,LOL :)

Thanks Jackie - you'll have to give me some tips!!! Steve and I are going to test run the tent today to see if we can put it up!!! The instructions could be in Japanese for all I understand them but Steve has camped before so I am relying on his knowledge!!

    I have a 6 berth tent...and that's just for me...LOL! :):)

Out on the bike again this weekend. I got a bargain from e-bay as I thought I better get a cheap one just in case I don't get on with cycling - but it has been liberating - I can't cycle huge distances as my legs burn so much but I am weaning right now so that doesn't help - but I must say, it is fun!

    Love

  3. Hi Jack,

Its lovely to see someone else trying out the blogging...me and Adrienne were feeling very alone! You have a very beautiful family...you must be extremely proud. I think its fantastic that you are a stay at home Dad and are obviously providing a very stimulating environment for your children - that's the hardest thing I found, being in recovery, that I had little energy to take Harry out and participate in activities. he is 4yrs old and I just sometimes feel that I am hindering him. As time goes on and I feel better, we are doing more things though. I still haven't got him a place at pre-school so hope that will happen in the New Year. He will enter full-time education in September 2006. Steve, my husband and I take him to a beautiful forest we have locally which is part of our National Trust so he is very much in touch with nature and we do alot of creative things at home. I also got an allotment recently, which is a rented patch of land that the community can grow fruit and vegetables on, so he is having fun digging....keep up with the blog..its good fun!

    Take care,

    Diane
