Question about blood test results and ACTH/Cortisol levels

Guest Pete G

Question

I have been sick for a long time and have some of the symptoms of cushing's disease. Here are my test results:

Test...............................................Level........................Range

24hr urine cortisol:.........................99............................0 - 50

ACTH, plasma................................211.2.......................7.2 - 63.3

I know that ACTH levels can be elevated due to chronic illness or stress. My question is, is it possible for someone's ACTH be elevated as much as above by stress alone? What is the typical ACTH blood plasma level of someone with Cushing's disease?

Hello Pete and welcome! You are in a good place for support, information and understanding. Your levels are clearly elevated. Everyone's levels will vary with this disease. Are you seeing an endo who understands how to diagnose and treat this disease?

love,

melly
