  2. I am thankful that since last year I have now lost 2 inches from my neck, 7 inches off my waist and 40 lbs. total. Thank you God for the ability to work out again and have a healthy body!

  3. Day 15: I am thankful for LifeSong Church. Mike, Ryan, and I have been there for 3 years now and I could not ask for a more wonderful church family. Thanks to Club MOM, Carol Donovan Burless, and Melissa Edge Fite, I was introduced to a very loving, caring group of believers. Pastor Lyndol goes above and beyond the call of duty. When I got sick, he and Joni Loyd were by my hospital bed numberous times praying for me. When Patrick died, Lyndol was right there in the hospital helping me plan hi...

  4. Day 14: I am thankful for my heart, and that it's still beating. There is nothing like a close call with life that will truly make you grateful for what you have. A normal person's EF (ejection fraction) is between 55-60%. At my lowest point last year, mine was teetering on the edge of 30-35% with fluid-filled lungs and I was gasping for breath. After Patrick's birth, it rebounded to between 40-45% and that is where it stayed all last year. My last echocardiogram was last year while I still h...

  5. Day 13: I am thankful for a lovely bunch of ladies, most of whom I have never met. Back in the day 5 years ago before the facebook craze, we all metup on Ivillage.com. We ARE the April 2008 Applebottoms. Yep, every one of us has a precious little one born in April 2008! From the moment we discovered the miracle of life growing inside us, to the birth of our little loves, diapers, formula, sleepless nights, potty training, and now the ever-looming kindergarten monster, these women have bonded...

  6. The feeling you get when it's been a great day, and then you realize it's DWTS night which makes it even greater!

  7. Day 12: I am thankful for having the right to say I am thankful. I am very, very thankful for my mother in law, Elaine LeCrone Birkinshaw. I remember the first time we met at a band competition, where the Marching Knights were an exhibition band, at Seminole High School in 1996. Thank you for always putting your kids first and making my husband the man he is today. Thank you for showing him a great work ethic and teaching him the value of hard work and commitment. Than man he is today not onl...

  8. Day 11: I am very thankful for all of our Veteran's who have fought hard to secure our country's freedom. Freedom isn't free, and I thank you for your service to all of us in this wonderful country of ours!

  9. Beautiful day with my little family. Ryan is feeling MUCH better and the pulled muscle in my neck is tolerable now. My knee is no longer in pain, but am afraid a visit to the doctor is in my future. Cushing's damaged my knees so badly. It has been a lazy, fun day. We've beat Angry Birds Star Wars, watched home movies, NAPPED, and baked cookies. Days at home are wonderful!

  10. Day 9: I am thankful for Mike's job. It has allowed me to stay home to raise our son. It has provided for our family in more ways than I can count. They understood all his time off last year when I was sick and never questioned it. I love that he is home at 5:20 every night and has every other Friday off. He is able to be here for his family, but still have the stability of his job. I am so grateful that his job allows him so much family time and keeps a roof over our heads and food in our mo...

  11. I think I'm in for a long evening. Mike just downloaded Angry Birds Star Wars.

  12. Day 8: I am thankful for my parents who gave me life and who raised me to be a Godly woman with a hard work ethic and sense of responsibility. Thank you for showing me unconditional love and support through everything. From "playing rough", pillow fights, dancing in the living room in the dark with flashlights to the Bongo drum record, to birthday parties, band concerts, and the birth of my boys, you were always there. I could count on looking out into the crowd at any event and you were ther...

  15. Day 7: I am thankful that God is in control!

  16. The beauty of switching to Internet phone with an unlisted number...NO political calls all year!!!!

  17. 2 hours 15 minutes and voting is done! Got out of there just in the knick of time to get Ryan from school!

  18. I am also very blessed that I can take Ryan to school and stand at the polls by myself. Cold, wet, rainy line, HERE I COME!!

  20. Life is amazing! Totally healed from Cushing's and LIVING to the fullest again!

  21. Today I am grateful. I am grateful that I could go to the gym, do the elliptical & bike, shower, and get myself ready for the rest of my day...and have the happy desire to again. I am grateful that I could take my son to get a haircut and to Kohl's to shop for new shorts and let him have a little playdate in the toys with a new friend who we met at the store. I am grateful for my returning muscle strength that I needed to pick up the boy and spank his bottom in the checkout line when he smart...

  22. 2 days in a row, the boy has voluntarily asked to sit on the potty. Am I hallucinating? I thought my Cushing's hallucination days were over...lol!! Maybe we're going to have a breakthrough! I HOPE SO!!!

  23. Took a walk with Ryan & Sputnik, and then we did some painting. Gee, he painted the Manta & Kraken coasters from Sea World. The obsession is here!

  24. What I thought was going to be a yucky day, has turned out well. Great workout at the gym...I forced myself to go since Ryan wanted to go to Kid's Klub. Then, had lunch at Chick-Fil-A with a very well behaved young man. We finished up the errands with a grocery trip to Target and 2 successful potty trips. He has crashed and I am about to enjoy the quiet.

  25. Sleepy....yaaawwwnnnn...Maybe coffee will help. TGIF!
