  1. Hi Mary - I like the idea of the car ribbons and the license plate frames. I'd like to purchase those.
  2. I wish I could tell these guys that it's nothing new and that I've suspected, even though I'm not a scientist or doctor, that Cushing's could be hereditary. My mother has it, I have it, and there's a possibility that one of my sons has it. I'd like to have that gene tested in all 3 of us. Thanks for the info. It's a great piece. I'm going to print it out and put it in my folder.
  3. Thanks Mary, great post. I just plucked my face clean this afternoon and can feel hairs and bumps coming in already!
  4. Very cool! I will be ordering when they're ready! Thanks Mary! You're awesome!
  5. I'm not sure what the site background is now, but I really like this new one. The only thing I don't care for are the 5 "fingers" pointing downward with the yellow nail polish in the area that says "Cushing's Help and Support Boards". Otherwise, I love everything else!
  6. Hey Mary, How much does it cost to buy them and how much of a profit will there be? I think that should help in determining the cost. $5 sounds pretty good and it's for as worthy a cause as breast cancer or heart disease! Is it too late to order any for the Monterey meeting? Thanks - Kathi
  7. Very interesting! They didn't say whether or not they could treat cushing's with this inhibitor. Perhaps that will come as soon as they get it on the market. Thanks! Great information!
  8. There was only one discrepancy I found. In the chart they noted how to test for ACTH, early morning. Everyone should have a regular "high" reading in the morning. Some, like myself, tested low in the morning for both ACTH and cortisol. Levels should be measured at or close to midnight to determine a diurnal variation. If cortisol and ACTH show up normal in the morning, that's how the doctor will read it - you wouldn't have Cushing's according to him/her.
  9. Crep!!! That is huge! How can you miss something like that??? When it was 15lbs. they were still oblivious?? Absolutely ridiculous and uncalled for!
  10. Sounds interesting! I'd like a copy as well! Thanks!
  11. I have contacted two of the representatives in our state about 2 months ago. None have responded but I did send the letter out via email. I believe it's better to send the letters out snail mail. I already know one of the congressmen personally as he used to be our neighbor a few years back. I hope that helps to get our foot in the door to declare 4/8 as Cushing's Awareness Day! I will be sending out letters to all our representatives this week.
  12. http://www.wdxcyber.com/ninfer07.htm In my quest to find out why I'm growing so much hair on my body and still have a receding hairline even with my androgens and testosterone coming up normal I came upon this article. It's very interesting. I may try the Saw Palmetto to help reduce the more potent form of androgens - DHT. I'm also getting my estrogens checked next week to see if they're low.
  13. Pehaps now Ohio people have a place to go if this doc is treating Hamilton. He should be able to help others and yes, yes, yes, Hamilton can bring awareness to this awful disease.
  14. hI mary thanks - I'll let Susan know that the links are in her pm box. I'll also look up her posts and print them out for her just in case she doesn't get to them.
  15. Hi Mary, I'm on the phone with Susan right now. Her computer is down and she asked me to ask you to get copies of Sally2 Progess Report (week by week and month by month progress report since last December) as well as brand new thread that was started a couple of weeks ago called It's a New Day. She doesn't need it to be posted again but if you can get her the transcripts sent in the mail she would like it for her scrap book for the details. PLEASE! THANK YOU!!
