  1. Euthyroid Eu=good/normal. However, one of the most unsubstantiated myths of medicine is probably the 'euthyroid sick syndrome'. But I wouldn't worry about that now. The Dexamethosone starting at noon and then every six hours for eight tablets, with a CRH challenge and then a blood draw fifteen minutes later is an excellent test. So put up with the nuisance of it and be glad you are getting tests..at the UWPhysicians they don't want to do any testing.
  2. Beats me. I've no idea if there is any particular funding available or any sort of national coordinating agency or charity of some sort. Ofcourse, most of those associations don't really do much but fund a few researchers who are willing to plow fields that are already well plowed.
  3. Concerning Pseudo-Cushing's Syndrome: From: Intl Jnl Obesity 2000 24(Supp2)S50-S55. Obese subjects with psychiatric manfiestations ranging from depression to anxiety often have mild hypercortisolism which is stress-induced and results in visceral obesity and metabolic syndrome manifestations which in the extreme may be a Pseudo-Cushings state that needs to be differentiated from the frank Cushing's Syndrome. Genetic variations in glucocorticoid receptor genes may affect specific tissue, such as visceral fat or the cardiovascular system.
