Guest Lynne Clemens Posted December 23, 2003 Report Share Posted December 23, 2003 Todays (12/23) Wall Street Journal had an article about the aftermath of high-dose steroid therapy given to people in China with SARS last year. About 1/3 of them have a bone disease now where their joints just crumble away. These people were on high doses of prednisone for relatively short times, but the steroid did its damage. People in Hong Kong, Canada nd the US who were treated for SARS were not given the steroid therapy and have not shown the same damage. I wanted to post a link to the article, but it's only available to members (which I'm not).
