MountainQueen
If you get a chance, please watch the NOVA show on Public Broadcasting System (PBS) about epigenetics and the second genome. Very interesting when watched with endocrine/cushings in mind. Also stress markers and personality changes. http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/genes/ I think you can also read the program trancript. I would love to hear what anyone else thinks. MountainQueen
staticnrg
Yes, epigenetics is one of the up-and-coming fields of genetics. I talked to some doctors about it on twitter and they laughed at me until I showed them some research. (I love doing that...aren't I awful?) I've blogged a little about it. I have no doubt there is an epigenetic factor with obesity and possibly other endocrine related symptoms. Whether it is a cause of Cushing's...I have no idea. I'll have to look for the show! Thank you! Robin
graciec
Indeed, when I was going to do my MS is Biology (now in Health Care Administration - more boring!) it would have been have been with an epigenetic focus. It seems to explain quite a lot in the study of Alzheimer's. I'll have to check that out. Thanks!
