Door
Curcumin acts as anti-tumorigenic and hormone-suppressive agent in murine and human pituitary tumour cells in vitro and in vivo http://erc.endocrinology-journals.org/content/16/4/1339.full Also Growth suppression of mouse pituitary corticotroph tumor AtT20 cells by curcumin: a model for treating Cushing's disease. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20405005 And Curcumin (diferuloylmethane) inhibits cell proliferation, induces apoptosis, and decreases hormone levels and secretion in pituitary tumor cells. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18450960 After eating curry in my eggs and tuna every chance I get I've noticed a difference in certain things. I know that there is evidence to suggest curcumin is anti carcinogenic and anti inflammatory and I attribute the changes to the anti inflammatory effect. But I still got curious....so I decided to look up turmeric/curcumin and pituitary tumors and this is what I found. Just thought it was interesting. Door
Very interesting indeed. I think, as hard as this will be for me, I'm going to stop the curry powder until I finish testing. Just to be on the safe side...
wolfie2012
Oh, interesting...about 2 years ago I started using Tumeric daily to try to make head way with my Hidradenitis Suppurativa. I noticed a very small improvement in new outbreaks, but I didn't like the taste it left and I didn't think it made that much difference... But now I wonder... I have long since decided the boil problem is a Cushing's symptom ...I think I can realistically put the start of Cushing's around the time it started. Well, maybe it just gave me more time to not know what was coming! Mags
BDen13
Hmm Interesting - these papers come from the same place my endo works. I wonder if they're still working on this or if they hit a dead end.
djphelyne
I've been growing tumeric. It grows like ginger. You can take it in supplement form, too. I'm not a big fan of eating curry often, but will take supplements. however, I'm not now for the same reason, door. I want accurate testing. Tumeric really is proving to be a superfood. Love more research is being done on such things.
