Chief Cushie ~Moderator~ Posted February 27, 2010 Chief Cushie Report Share Posted February 27, 2010 The following announcement will be going up on the boards later today. This is not the result of any one person's posts so please don't think it was yours. The moderators have been discussing this for a while to try to determine the best wording (which may still not be final) and this is the current version. This is for YOUR safety, as well as your families, the rest of the message board members and Cushings Help itself. Thanks! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Medical emergency? If you're ever in doubt and your doctor is not available, it's better to go to the ER or call 911. Do not wait for people on the message boards to share their experiences with you. This board cannot be responsible for providing emergency medical advice which can backfire easily. If someone dies or is seriously hurt from advice given here, it will be the end of these boards. We (those who post) have to bear that guilt if something goes wrong, and that isn't fair to either the person in the medical situation or those giving advice. Future "crisis" posting will be removed immediately for your, and the board's, protection. Do not put yourself and the rest of the board members at risk. chanceofrain
Thank You. We can never forget that this is a place of support and can never replace the expertise of a doctor.

I would think that advising someone to take medications (over the counter or otherwise when we don't know the other medications or health problems of the given person) could potentially cause great harm and be the end of the boards as well.
